Waiting

April 29, 2008

So my SIL was due last Wednesday.  We are waiting on pins and needles for the phone call that says our new little nephew has arrived.  Brandon’s prediction is 5:35PM tomorrow.  Guess we’ll see.

Challenge

April 26, 2008

Right now I am in the process of adding Joshua’s story to a prolife website.  It has been a little challenging because I am trying to get copy right permission for the songs we used in his video so that it is all legit and we don’t get in trouble.  Right now we have contacted the company that is able to give (or more likely sell) us permission to do it.  This seems like a big scary undertaking because I’ve never done anything like this before so I’ll keep you posted on our progress.

Typical Girl

April 25, 2008

My Laurensita is going through a typical girly thing right now.  She is so fickle.  I know it has to do with being three but she just can’t decide if she is a big girl or totally incompetent.  Today she went from yelling at me for trying to help her put her shirt on -”I kin do it Mommy” to being unable to pick herself up off the floor after she “fell” mind you she was able to creep her way across the room because clearly I could not see how truly injured she was “I can’t det up mommy” (read with an over dramatic nigh unto swoon). All within about 15 minutes.

She does love her Fridays.  Brandon has the day off and Lauren is the only one home during the day (besides me of course).  Often times lately the three of us will have a lunch date while doing errands and she thinks it’s great.  Today I took a break from working on some stuff on the computer and walked into my bedroom.  There sit Brandon and Lauren playing my little ponies.  Too cute:)

I was reminded just now as she tripped yet again, that she is also going through a clumsy stage.  She just trips all the time … over nothing (which makes the whole helpless thing get old in a hurry).  The other day when I took the girls to the doctor, she was trying to beat Erica to the door and went headlong into it because she tripped about 3 feet from the door.  It’s a good thing the receptionist knows I’m a good mother because I couldn’t help but laugh.  Then as we were leaving she pulled the same manuver as we were appoaching the billing desk (trying to beat Erica to seeing the turtles this time).  The same receptionist happend to be standing near by and even she couldn’t help but smirk. I just threw up my hands and laughed but if she continues to be this clumsy for long, I may start to be concerned.

End of the silence

April 19, 2008

Hey everybody, it’s been a while again.    I’ve noticed that several of the blogs I read regularly have been updated less often too.  We have been very busy lately.  I have been coaching shot and discus with Brandon this year which has been challenging in more than one way.  Both the workouts (which I haven’t done in a while) and the coordination effort (getting the girls in the middle of practice/making sure supper is ready when we get home) have stretched me but I’m having fun too.

We had a great trip to Mississippi!  Lots of fun with Nana and Papa, Uncle Al and Aunt Brenda and the cousins.  I hope to post pictures this coming week.  One of my favorite memories of the trip was when we were about 45 minutes from N&P’s house and Lauren, buckled in her car seat, had ahold  of her feet and was pulling them up and down saying “I can’t take it any mowah”

We also have been working on a couple of projects that I can’t elaborate on because they are surprises for a couple of my readers. (Brandon just pointed out that some may interpret that to mean I am pregnant which is not the case …hope I didn’t get anyone excited)
